The LR Mate 100iB from FANUC is a human arm-sized robot designed to deliver the best compact solution for fast handling and processing parts across a wide range of industries. It is a five-axis, electric servo-driven robot that provides for dexterity and high speed for various industrial and commercial applications, including machine tending and part transfer processes.
The robot can also be equipped with a number of intelligence features, such as vision and force sensing functionality, which in turn allows it to deliver even higher levels of accuracy and productivity all around.
High Joint Speed
The FANUC LR Mate100iB comes with a unique hollow joint construction that allows it to maximize throughput while a state of the art absolute encoder positioner eliminates homing when powering-up. It features the same footprint and wrist bolt pattern as FANUC’s last generation of robots, meaning users can expect the same no-hassle upgrades and machine vision for improved guidance and inspection.
Built for Reliability
This hollow joint design also houses the robot’s cables and hoses snugly thereby eliminating instances of snagging during use and ultimately increase reliability. The end effector connections of the LR Mate100iB are built directly into the wrist for easier integration, along with two double-acting solenoid valves built into the robot’s forearm for a simplified End of Arm Tooling (EOAT) dressout. Its pneumatic and electric valve cabling is installed near the flange for increased system reliability.
Completing the setup is a set of sealed bearings and durable brushless AC motors, both of which contribute to the robot arm’s reliability. The LR Mate100iB is also compatible with existing LR Mate 100i work cells and tooling for greater versatility.
Flexible for High Performance
The FANUC LR Mate100iB is equipped with a flip over backward functionality allowing it to cover a larger work envelope with ease. This flexibility means the robot features an enhanced motion control system, as well as allows for simpler installation whether upright, angle, wall or invert mounted. Its slim wrist design allows for smooth operation even in tight workspaces and the robot is capable of high speeds with relatively low cycle times.
Seamless Pairing with the R-J3iB™ Mate Controller
The R-J3iB™ Mate Controller is one of FANUC’s leading controller systems and allows for easy installation, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance. It weighs around 35kg with a compact size which basically allows for convenient placement even in a small space. It features the α-i Series Amplifiers w/FSSB and FANUC’s proprietary I/O Link (master or slave). The R-J3iB™ Mate Controller is also equipped with extended communication capabilities, such as Ethernet, Serial, and Fieldbus connections and is RIA 15.06 1999 compliant.
Low Maintenance Requirements
With a standard IP65 protection for the mechanical unit, the FANUC LR Mate100iB is designed to maintain its integrity over prolonged usage. The motors of the robot are directly coupled to the reducer which in turn results in a simplified mechanical unit with a reduced breakdown risk and high accuracy with minimum backlash.
